Dr McGoodDaddy said he would be up and around in no time and he was right. Bo took it easy Thursday and Friday. By Saturday he was crawling all over the place. On Monday I had a worry that by dragging his cast behind him he could be causing some damage so I told him he had to walk.
He was not pleased with me at all. But after some encouragement form his big sister he tested the waters. The first time he stood on his own he declared he was "brave, brave, brave". Walking on it made him really nervous. He was worried about putting his foot/boot all the way down and taking a step. Jeff made a joke about a walker and I had already been thinking along the same line. I drug out Kati's stroller for her baby dolls and that seemed to give him a little more confidence.
As of today he is all over the place, as long as you don't ask to film him or take pictures. Then he claims he "can't walk so good". This morning he was sword fighting with Jeff and he even ran a little.
Tomorrow he will go back to school. I'm a little nervous but I think he should do just fine. But I bet he will be one really tired little guy when school is over.
Here are some photos that I loved
This was taken the day after surgery. He looked great for a few hours and then he was just bet and in pain but it was fun while it lasted.
This is the big boot he wears. The tubes coming out of the cast area is a cooling device, just like an ice pack. Dr. McGD wrapped it in there at the time of the surgery and I am so glad he did. We just hook Timothy up to the machine and we don't have to worry about another thing, if the ice is falling off, if he is trying to remove it, if it's getting to cold and bad for him. This machine is just perfect.
