Sometimes you just gotta eat cake

I thought we would have a fun morning and eat left over birthday cake for breakfast cause I try and be a fun mom. I am hoping that they will remember these moments and not what a grouch I am........

There were cheers all around when I said what we were doing. Happy feet raced down the stairs. I over heard Bear say that it was Paige's birthday. That is his baby doll named after some dear friends little girl.

I decided to go along with his idea and had the kids go get their babies. Hats were made and the birthday party began.

You see that look of love? That's genuine, he really loves that ol' doll that much.

........I think I need to get more cake.

He was so proud of himself. He is still talkin about being the only one to catch a fish on his birthday.

Bo's birthday celebration at home

This may be the ugliest cake I have ever made but maybe the one I am most proud of. It broke while I was getting it out of the pan. "Old me" would have panicked and had to make a new one and been so stressed about it. I made do with what I had and you know what....it still tasted good.

He was really excited about his present even though the kid already has swords and shields. Don't those teeth say it all.

He didn't want anyone else to pray at supper, just him.

This dork special request this meal and all he ate was one bite of cheese pizza and his cake. So glad I didn't make the pizza!!!!

1. It may be a long drive but the view on the way is just breath taking.

City of Rocks

On the way through New Mexico Jeff stopped off to show me something he just knew I would love. The City of Rocks. I really appreciated it. It was hot and some of the kids were cranky and it made our trip longer but he knew how much I would enjoy it so he did it for me.

We stayed for about an hour. Just long enough for Jeffrey to burn real good, for me to make some memories and for Kati to fall in love with the state park.

Little Man doesn't seem so little

Bear finally got the long coveted Student of the Month. He was more excited about that than graduating Kindergarten.
