Merry Christmas 2012

Our foster agency has an annual Christmas get together.  I had been looking forward to this event for months.
I really wish I could share pictures of Mr. Cutier Tooter on here.

The event was Polar Express themed.

When Jeff suggested that face painter for Mr. I thought, "No way this is going to go over well."
I was wrong and glad that I was.
Mr sat so well for it and with his sensory issues I really didn't expect that.
Bug enjoyed getting a snowman painted on her face as well.
The boys weren't interested and went to play battleship with one of the volunteers.
This is our amazing group of workers from our agency.

Before we were even able to pull out our parking space Bo asked when we were going to go again.

1sts

We can only assume this was Mr's first year to decorate a tree.  Even if it wasn't he wouldn't have remembered it anyway.
His sweet face was full of wonder when I dragged the tree box in the house.  Hopefully you can see that here even if only a sliver of his beautiful face is showing.

 Our boys, what hams!

Half day

What a sweet face!!
Recently the kids had a half day from school.  I told Jeff that we should wait to pick Mister up from school and take our kids to the park.  I thought it would be good for them to just have some time with us.

Not long after being at the park the kids all said they wanted us to go get Mister from school so they could play with him too.  What special babies.....

Baking Cookies

This is the first time we have made dough or anything such thing with Mr.  His food issues make things like this difficult.  Cooking is such a wonderful sensory experience, I hope we have more opportunities to do this.
I like to have the kids smell ingredients we are using and guess what they are.  While the allspice was going around Mr exhaled instead and Kati sure did get a face full.  Good memories.

Daddy was awesome to come in and save the day when Mr. didn't understand why we weren't eating if we had just been in the kitchen with food.

This was our first try at gingerbread cookies.  I have the gingerbread men baked and waiting to be decorated for Santa.

Just a swingin

When Mister first came to us it was obvious he had no idea about swinging, he had never had the experience.  Because of his issues sensory experiences like this weren't important to him.  He physically wasn't able to enjoy them or if he did he wasn't sure how to express that.

I am so excited to say that just recently at the park with Jeffrey that all changed for him.  It may not seem important but this is proof of his healing and we are so excited for him.

I feel so blessed to have such a wonderful husband.  And to have children with such big hearts.  Just recently Mister was having a fit in the store.  Bo was asking about it and when I explained things I watched my baby begin to sing what he always hears his Daddy sing to Mister.  It was just a beautiful moment to watch his heart try to bring healing to Mister.

Fav

Our kids are builders, our boys mostly.  I love looking at all of their creations.  But this one, this one is my favorite.  Timothy built his Daddy.
