Drive-thru zoo

Yes, I know that is not what it is really called but that's what I say. Kati calls it the "drive to the zoo". This is how we started our vacation. I will follow with Sea World pictures later. One of Kati's favorite parts is being able to hold us while we drive thru. She got to help Daddy drive the car.

Brendon really enjoyed this. He spent most of his time with his head out the window.
He pointed at just about everything.

Grandma E was brave and fed the animals (Mommy wasn't).

Bear liked the "ebra's" until they stuck their heads in the car.

Kati spent some of her time with her head out the sun roof. How exciting.
We needed a new driver. Daddy really did let him drive for a few seconds. I'm glad we still have some years before he gets his license otherwise I wouldn't be on the roads anymore.

See the raccoon. This was Kati's favorite part, the animal that wasn't even suppose to be there. What a nerd. Well, to give her a little credit she hadn't ever seen one before.
Bear enjoying more animals.
Bear even fed them.

Grandma being brave again.
Phuwee, did they smell.
Kati and Bear both out the sun roof and I'm having a heart attack.

It was a long drive with lots of fun animals!

The kids and I made turkey hats today. I guess the teacher in me came out. While we were out to eat the other day a kid had one on and I just had to do it to. Cutest turkeys I have ever seen.
Kati helping pick out the ham. I know, I know whats with the hats if we are eating ham. Ham tastes better, there, I said it. Notice at the bottom of the picture Bear is hat free, what a party pooper!

Now Kati picks out sweet potatoes. I have never made anything with them except baby food but there is a first time for everything right.

I was trying to find shoes for Kati but all I found was a ham looking at herself in the mirror.

"Pantycakes"

I got a wild hair to make buttermilk pancakes, or in the words of Kati "pantycakes". Kati and I made an early morning trip to the store. She loves to help me cook.
Helping or playing?
Now Jeff did warn me that it was all going to take to long but I was hearing now of it. While I'm cooking I turn around to find that Brendon and Kati have torn open the foil on our homemade bread and are helping themselves. Breakfast might as well have been lunch. Next time we will just go to IHOP or in the words of Kati "Hi-hop".

A helper?

Bear was helping Daddy get the leaves up, or so we thought..........
Here he is sticking them on the other side of the fence. I guess what is not on your side isn't your responsibility.

This is Kati working on her own blog. Kids are so funny.

Sleepless Nights

Bear and I haven't gotten much sleep lately. Going to bed and nap are hard. He wakes numerous times during the night, usually calling for Jeffrey. After I tell him that Daddy is sleeping he wants to know where Kati is. Jeff took this picture before putting him back in bed. The is almost an every night event.

Baby Grindstaff

Here is our new little one! I'm sure you don't think so but I thought the baby is so beautiful I cried. I know, I know at this stage it is hard to see anything. Over on the far left is the head. If you look on the far right you can see a tiny little leg. I was reading yesterday that the baby is only the size of a grain of rice. How on earth can something so small make me so sick. Kati says, "I know what is making you sick. That stinky little baby." She says it with love of course. As of Tuesday we are eight weeks pregnant, with a due date of June 20th.

In the mind of a child

You will have to pay close attention to the words in this blog to get it (this picture doesn't go with the it, I just thought she looked cute).
Kati comes into the kitchen pretending to ride on a toy. She says "Mommy can you dry your hands off ( I was washing dishes) and get these things off of me I'm stuck." So I dry off my hands and try to take away the toy. "No, no" she says "not that" and she points to imaginary things on her legs. I get all of that off and she leaves the kitchen. She comes back just a little bit later and says, "Oh thanks mom, I had all that traffic stuck on me and I couldn't get home." I wonder what picture goes through her mind when I say Daddy is stuck in traffic and can't come home yet.

Halloween

For Halloween we went with some friends to a church function. There were tons of bounce house, games, food stands and candy but boy was it cold. I for some reason thought it would be inside so the kids had no jackets and very thin costumes. Luckily I brought blankets along so we just wrapped up in them. I say we, I really mean the kids. The kids had a great time. Kati played games and Brendon kept sneaking candy. He had a very stick face and of course I left the wipes in the car. We were so proud of Kati. Jeff was talking her on this huge blow up slide. He stopped to take his shoes off but when he looked up she was half way up, she didn't even wait for him.

My little pirates

Grandpa, Jeff made add this one for you (Kati wanted me to be a pirate too)

She may have been dressed as a pirate but she was still all girl!

This is my favorite of them together. I know you can't see there faces very well but with Brendon always on the move you take what you can get.

What a goober. The hat didn't last for long

Pumpkin Farm

They had their first pumpkin ice cream. I know they don't appear to be enjoying it but they did.

It's fuzzy I know, but you can see how much fun she was really having that day.

Kati thought this one looked like a peach

It was pretty windy and the kids kept getting dirt in there eyes.

I love this one
