Casting #7

Let me start by first introducing you to Mc.......well since you don't "Mc" girls I'll go with something completely original and call her Nurse Sarah because well that's her name and it would just be weird to call her anything else.

I have to say that when we are all done I will miss Nurse Sarah, she has been so very sweet to us. Of course Timbo didn't think so. When we went to appointment number two he began crying as soon as he saw her. The little guy actually remembered her from getting the casts sawed off the last time and wanted nothing to do with her. Getting the casts sawed off was an ordeal. He would scream the whole time. Now if you have ever had a cast taking off you might not be feeling that sorry for him because it doesn't take that long to have a cast removed.......that is unless you are a baby. You can't tell an infant to hold really still while they are being worked on so removing the casts from him takes quite a while.

Nurse Sarah gets the Doctors supplies all ready for him, helps me hold Timbo while the casts are being removed and most importantly she washes his feet between casting.

Sarah calls Timbo her favorite patient. I love when she opens the waiting room door and calls him name in her sing-song voice.
Pre-casting
Five weeks in casts
Ignore the quality of the photo, as you can see he was trying to get away. Can you also his toe nail on the middle toe? I can't fit nail clippers into his casts so the child was growing some claws
Pre-casting
Five weeks in casts, and so pretty it makes me want to cry. I had to just keep kissing those pretty little feet. When Dr McGoodDaddy saw Timbo's feet he said he had nothing to complain about. Dr McNewGuy came in to have a look too and was also pleased.

On a side note, McGoodDaddy said he wanted to carry Timbo around in his pocket for when he was having a bad day. He said he couldn't look at that face and not smile. Major brownie points with me
So now I am going to walk you threw the casting process. I should note that he no longer cries while his casts are being removed. It's just old news for him now.

After his stinky feet have been washed, and this time he got his toe nails cut too, Dr McGoodDaddy begins with a 2 1/2 inch stocking.
After the stocking it's on to two inches cotton wrap. His leg gets wrapped up with some stocking sticking out at the top and bottom. Timbo gets extra cotton padding around the heels because he rubs his feet sore there.
I think Timbo is bored with us.

One cast on and one to go.
Here is Bear being the Doctors assistant. more brownie points McGoodDaddy lets the kids help every week. I'm not really sure what the soap does other than make his casts smell good but the kids get to help get and squirt the soap.
Ignore the bulging diaper.....
We went with red this time. The youth thought candy cane casts would be cute but they didn't have white. Sarah suggested one red and one green but they were all out of green.
The kid can have his casts sawed, cracked open and then sit threw the looooong process of casting but he can't handle a little bugger pickin'

Hey look what I can do!

My little guy is growing so fast

Last week he started saying "da da" I know he is not thinking Daddy but we are moving in that direction. It is so cute to hear his endless string of dadadadada's.

We have also learned that Timbo has a little bit of a temper.

And he is learning to sit up. The casts may be assisting in his sitting up so we will see in a week if he can still sit up. When I say sit up I mean I sit the child up and the child sits up for a few seconds and then toppels over, but you have to start somewhere, right?

Man, does he love food. When I am trying to feed him he gets so distracted by other things but once he sees the spoon I can't shovel it into his mouth fast enough. And he makes you feel so guilty if you eat your own food infront of him. That boy just follows the fork from plate to mouth, plate to mouth until you try and convince yourself that spicy chicken can't be too bad for a baby, right. He has also pulled a cup away from my mouth, causing a rather embaressing spill, trying to get a drink for himself.

I tried to add a video to this but I can't figure it out, so when Jeff shows me I will add it later.

Timbo gets some new experinces

Timothy found Grandpa's mustache and was very interested
Grandma has peacock feather in the corner that were blowing from the breeze of the fan. Timothy just couldn't take his eyes off of them.
Tickle, Tickle. He thought it was too funny.
